Expansion joints in concrete floors are rubbery strips between sections of concrete that allow each part to expand and contract from temperature changes instead of cracking. These areas see the most stress in a concrete floor and tend to be the first failure point.

- Grind out the old joint material and clean the space.
- Rebuild the joint with an epoxy mortar to form a smooth and level surface.
- Add a coat of floor epoxy over the entire floor to strengthen and protect the concrete.
- Cut out the dried epoxy at the expansion joint and fill it with flexible polyurethane.
