How We Replace Garage Floors:

Step 1: Old Floor Removal

We secure the garage and rip out the old concrete. At this time, we inspect the foundation to ensure it will last as long as the new floor.

Step 2: Grade and Compact Sub-Base

The soil below the floor must be sloped to allow the best drainage. It is compacted, then gravel is installed and compacted to support the concrete and aid moisture runoff.

Step 3: Steel Wire Mesh Placement

Wire mesh lays on top of the gravel. It will end up in the center of the concrete slab and adds structural integrity to the floor.

Step 4: Concrete Pouring

The concrete is poured and the wire mesh is lifted to the middle of the slab.

Step 5: Concrete Finishing

The concrete is bull-floated and sits until the water on top of it evaporates. Then, the surface is hand-finished with a steel trowel.

Step 6: Curing and Sealing

The garage floor can be walked on after 24 hours. After one week, cars can safely be parked on the concrete.
